Should The Miami Heat Entertain Trading Their 2023 NBA Draft Pick?

One of the biggest reasons why they should keep the pick, lord forbid, is that it helps protect them if something disastrous happens. The Heat’s Big 4 are missing a lot of time and all it might take is one big injury.

That could kill the chances of competing for a title. Keeping the pick gives you a solid asset to add to the roster if you don’t.

Mind you, they’re a ball club that’s barely over .500, so they’re not exactly at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

If the trend of injuries keeps occurring and this team keeps losing ball games though, that pick will become very valuable.

Another reason why they should keep it is that if they, indeed, do not compete or get an unfavorable matchup in the playoffs, at worst, the pick is in the lottery. Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro are amazing talents that have been selected at the 14th and 13th spots.

Even Precious Achiuwa is a solid player that just needed time and the same can be said for the young Nikola Jovic. Lately, the Heat have nailed their picks because Pat Riley and Erik Spoelstra have an eye for talent.

That’s also why you believe there’s no reason they can’t hit again in a 2023 pool that’s loaded. Saving that pick for the offseason can either, help with a win-now move or help add to the already dynamic duo of Adebayo and Herro.
