The Miami Heat have their own regular season games to win and worry about but among it all, NBA All-Star Weekend is coming up, and with that comes All-Star voting. The first two rounds of voting already showed LeBron James and Kevin Durant leading in votes.
For the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler was one of the leading candidates in the Eastern Conference frontcourt. One player that is missing from the list though is the Miami Heat’s other deserving All-Star level player on the year, Bam Adebayo, who has been quietly having a career year.
In his sixth season in the NBA, Bam is averaging a career-best 21.5 points per game, along with 10.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
He is also one of the top candidates to be an All-Defensive player this year and a perennial NBA Defensive Player Of The Year candidate as well on top of that.
Although it may seem surprising, Bam Adebayo has only been selected as an All-Star one season in his career. That was the 2019-20 NBA season in which Bam helped lead the Miami Heat to their fifth NBA Finals trip in ten years.
Bam Adebayo is absolutely deserving of an All-Star selection this season too though based on his numbers and the impact he has had on the floor. However, it is more likely that he is snubbed from the All-Star team this year than him actually making it.
Here are a few reasons why this will, unfortunately, be the case.
