The Miami Heat are one of the teams in the league that you always need to look out for. As long as they have the core essentials to compete, they are always a team capable of beating you.

What that means is that they need, at least, three guys that can come out and give you 20 points in four of seven games in a series. And to be frank, the Miami Heat actually have about five of those guys.

When you look at Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo, also incorporating the fact that guys are different when it matters the most such as the stage of the postseason, they should be able to get 60 points out of any given three-man combination of those guys in every single postseason game they play.

Along with role guys, a bit of shooting, and the Miami Heat’s ever-so-intense defense, they should be just fine when things really matter—if they can set themselves up properly in the regular season to get there. But about their defense, why is it so good when they are operating at peak efficiency?

Well, for one, that’s just the Miami Heat way. Hard work, intensity, effort, selling out for your team, and especially defense are their top priorities as a unit each and every night.

But then, well, there’s this. When you have elite guys on that side of the ball, such as Butler, Oladipo, Caleb Martin, and perhaps even Haywood Highsmith, it’s pretty easy.

The Miami Heat always have a chance to compete and that’s just because of how they are constructed. However, the foundation of that dwelling is Bam Adeabyo.

But that’s especially so when the most profound defensive weapon in the league is your starting center in Adebayo. And to emphatically illustrate how profound of a weapon he is on that side of the ball, check this out.

According to CBS Sports, this stat says it all. Considering metrics, efficiencies, and most other factors of a team’s offensive attack, this stat literally is what it says.

Given all that and giving a team 100 possessions, the opposing team scores 10 points fewer against the Miami Heat when Bam Adebayo is on the floor for them. The man is literally worth 10 points to his team when he’s on the floor.

And that, good readers out there, is why the Miami Heat always have a shot.

They have enough bucket-getters and shot-makers on the other side to get enough quality when it really counts but most importantly, they always have a very high likelihood of keeping the opposing teams’ corresponding point-getters from producing enough quality on their behalves.

That’s where their bread is buttered and Bam Adeabyo is the Baker.
