Miami Heat Roundtable: Time To Take John Collins Rumors Serious – Noah’s Take

The Miami Heat should remain interested in John Collins.

Noah’s Take (@ndeckerbuckets)

Even though he is having a worse statistical season than in previous years, he has still shown spurts this season of the high-quality player that he has been over the course of his career.

One of Miami’s main issues this season is keeping up with the offensive surge that is taking place. Collins wouldn’t solve all of Miami’s issues, but he would be a start.

He averages a career 16.1 points per game. Although he is struggling this season, he has been relied upon to shoot three-pointers as well.

He is also a consistent lob threat, something that would add versatility to Miami’s offense. Collins’ skill set allows for the flexibility of playing him alongside Bam Adebayo, while they could put him in a more reserved role as a forward or center off the bench.

Either way, he would be adding a little more size and strength to Miami’s frontcourt depth. In a season where the Heat’s depth has been battle-tested due to injuries, this could be a key factor when the playoffs begin.

John Collins might not be the answer for the Heat right now but would definitely contribute positively to the team. And for the right price, Miami should consider making a deal for him.
