The Miami Heat are a team that has forever been built off the back of their intensity, hard work, will, and grit. That’s how they are going to win and how they have always done it.

Now, taking a guy like Jimmy Butler into consideration as the most astute example, when those characteristics can also be combined with talent or skill at the highest level, then the Miami Heat become one of the more dominant forces in the league.

And that has been the case in the last few years, the Jimmy Butler Era, shall we say. Outside of the one year being swept by the Bucks in the opening round, off the offseason that wasn’t following a deep Heat NBA Bubble run, the Miami Heat have been right there in the mix when it was all said and done.

Take the contentious series with the Boston Celtics last season in the Eastern Conference Finals or their NBA Finals appearance in said NBA Bubble run that saw them come up short behind Butler and a cast of hobbled guys behind him.

If the Miami Heat have the ability to, within reason, land another high-impact guy, then they should certainly pull the lever. And Zach LaVine qualifies.

But that all brings it back around to here.

The Miami Heat are built on their principles and when those principles can also be combined with immense talent, they see immense results—which is what makes this next tidbit of information extremely intriguing.

Seemingly on the outs in Chicago since before the season began, the wheels in the Windy City may still be turning in that direction. And if that is the case, the Miami Heat should certainly be as interested as the above report indicates that they are in Zach LaVine.

Now, the package it might take to get him is something to discuss but to be frank, you probably do it as long as it is, somewhat, in reason.

And for a guy of LaVine’s ilk, in the midst of his athletic prime right on the cusp of being 28 years old, and for a team that could have used another go-get-me-a-bucket-anytime scorer for a few years now—there can be a whole lot in what can be considered a reasonable deal.

Now, nothing is imminent for any of the teams mentioned, as this may be another “leverage” play, as mentioning the Miami Heat gets things done. But if this is real, then the Miami Heat should certainly be swinging for the fences and you don’t mind here at all, whatever that may look like.
