11. Julian Strawther, G, Gonzaga
Julian Strawther is a player whose stock has risen quite a bit over the past few months. And the biggest reason why is the highly efficient season he just had at Gonzaga. Strawther is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 15 points and six rebounds on 47 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent shooting from 3-point range. At 6-foot-7, Strawther has the type of versatility that any NBA team would love.
However, as is the case with every prospect, there are still questions about his game. For one, there are concerns that he won’t be a strong defender at the next level and whether he has the athleticism and potential to continue to improve as a prospect. In essence, Strawther is a player that would be a fit on the Heat.
He fits the build of what the Heat looks for in a wing contributor. Even more so if he can continue to prove that he could end up being one of the better shooters from this year’s draft class. If the Heat does end up rolling the dice on more of a shooter, Strawther could be near the top of the Heat’s preferred prospects.
