The NBA on Tuesday announced the schedule for its newly formed in-season tournament that will include all 30 teams and debut in the 2023-24 season.
Modeled after European cup-style competition, the inaugural in-season tournament will take place between Nov. 3 and Dec. 7, with the semifinals and championship rounds taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The tournament will consist of two stages: Group play and knockout rounds. Both stages will be nationally televised on specified nights and played concurrently with the regular-season schedule.
The league previously unveiled the six five-team groups — three made up of Eastern Conference teams and three made up of Western Conference teams — that will make up the group stage of the tournament. The Miami Heat are part of Group 2, along with last season’s playoff foes the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks, as well as the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
Here is the full breakdown of the groups. For more info on the in-season tournament format, you can visit the NBA’s FAQ page.
