Admittedly, the Miami Heat may currently be looking for direction and answers, but there's one certainty that they have no matter the long-term concerns - and it's the idea that they're absolutely not going to trade Bam Adebayo. That sentiment doesn't seem to land with teams and markets outside of South Florida, though.

On the Carmichael Dave Show, an absolutely absurd blockbuster trade between the Kings and Heat was proposed. Carmichael Dave, the host of the show and a Sacramento figure of influence, pitched the idea that the Heat and the Kings could agree to a swap that centered around Bam for Domantas Sabonis.

Here are the details of the pitched idea:

Why this deal wouldn't make sense for the Heat

There are many reasons why this deal wouldn't make sense for the Heat. From the Kings' perspective, there are reasons why this would. This is a move that helps them shake up their roster a bit by adding a player who fills every weakness that Sabonis has. This would be Sacramento pivoting into a completely different philosophy than before. Bam would very much be their defensive anchor that they're missing at the center of their lineup.

For Miami, nothing about this deal works. For one, even if Bam was not a part of this deal, it's hard to imagine how DeMar DeRozan solves any of the team's issues. Sure, he'd offer an offensive boost, but the fit next to Tyler Herro may prove to be wonky, and he still doesn't offer the playmaking ability that the team desperately needs.

While Sabonis is a good-to-great offensive player, especially as a center, Bam is the glue that holds this Heat team together. Trading him away, and the entire floor for this team falls out. Without Bam, the Heat is probably one of the worst defensive teams in the league, and while they may be improved on offense, they still don't have the desired lead facilitator they need to emerge as one of the best units in the league.

The Heat is not trading Bam Adebayo

This is the type of proposed deal that reveals just how important Bam is to Miami. Whether many are willing to believe it or not, without Bam, this Heat team would be in a nightmarish situation. Bam is far from a perfect player and is coming off somewhat of a down year, but he's going to play a key role if Miami is going to pull off a quick rebuild (or retooling).

No matter what lies ahead for Miami, Bam is going to be a big part of their plans. As the Heat scours the market for star upgrades, the idea is to find a player who will fit next to Bam, not in his place.

So, no, this proposed deal doesn't make sense for Miami. I'm sure Sacramento had a nice laugh about this possibility, but it has no chance of playing out in reality. If the Heat does pursue a trade on draft night, it will almost certainly not include Bam.
