Despite the inconsistency that this Miami Heat season has brought, the All-Star caliber play from the duo of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro has kept the team afloat. Miami is at the current seventh seed in the Eastern Conference, but where would they be without that duo leading the way?
Luckily, Heat Nation has gotten to watch the development of the pairing unfold all season long. Both of the stars have been healthy, and the on-court production has been enticing.
For Adebayo, he started the season in an inconsistent rhythm offensively. However, he has bounced back as of late to string together almost two months worth of elite outings and moments.
The biggest moment came on Monday night at home in a win over the Washington Wizards.
Miami had full control from the start of the game, and would go on to secure the 106-90 victory to get back into the win column. The group shot 48% from the field and did an excellent job in moving the basketball, totaling 31 assists to the Wizards 22 overall.
Bam Adebayo becomes the Miami Heat franchise’s all-time double-doubles leader.
With a record that has been held for over three decades by Rony Seikaly, Adebayo has humbly etched himself in Heat Legend status. The big man finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and three stocks en route to the win.

"I've always wanted to be first in something in this organization. I'm not done yet. It's great Rony Seikaly was here... to see me pass his record."

The career milestone is even more impressive when considering he is still just 27 years old. And likely still a couple of years out from his peak. The Heat captain has been the glue to the entire organization in recent years, and fans have watched his progression steadily increase as each season has gone by.
Even with a sluggish start to the 2024-25 campaign, Adebayo has come around during this late season playoff push. He is averaging 21.1 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists over his last 10 games.
With still plenty of basketball to come in his already polished career resume, the double-double leader marks just one of his many accomplishments as a member of the Heat.

Adebayo’s impact is deeper than what the box score shows, and that notion has been the case for his entire time in the association. His leadership both on and off the court, strong work ethic and versatile two-way capabilities make him one of the NBA’s best big men.
His teammates and coaching staff speak highly of his professionalism on a daily basis. After the game, coach Erik Spoelstra shared his thoughts on the record-breaking night— along with the humble approach Adebayo brings to the game.
"He just keeps checking off these records and also honoring the guys he's passing,” Spoelstra said. “It's a sign of a guy with great class but he's not going to stop, he's going to keep on doing it. It was a special moment. Everybody acknowledged Bam in the locker room."
In a season filled with plenty of ups and downs, the play of the 3X All-Star has been one of the biggest highlights. From game-winner’s to elite individual performances and now historic nights— Adebayo has already etched himself as one of the greatest all around players in Heat history.
There is still plenty of more work to be done as the team continues to fight for postseason positioning, but Adebayo solidified his recent dominant stretch of play with another incredible milestone worth celebrating.
