Bam Adebayo vs. Google is the NBA beef we didn't expect

Google clearly doesn't respect the Miami Heat.

Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo found himself in the most unusual of feuds on Friday. The three-time All-Star and the five-time member of the NBA's All-Defensive Team wasn't in a battle on the court or even involved in a war of words with someone online.

Adebayo found himself in an online feud with Google.

Like litteraly Google, the tech giant that pretty much controls the world.

Confused? Allow us to explain.

Google can't get Bam Adebayo's name correct

The Miami Heat took to social media to point out that if you searched Bam Adebayo on Google, somehow the name that would pop up was Bam Bowman.

Now, while that is some great alliteration and would make for a great create-a-character name in NBA 2K, Adebayo would probably prefer that a company that employs over 180,000 people had at least one person on staff who could get his name correct.

After the Heat made a plea to Google on social media, the incorrect name stayed up for well over three hours until it was changed.

And by changed, it still wasn't correct as Adebayo was now listed on Google as Bam Adeboye.

Perhaps he is the long-lost distance cousin of Adebayo.

We are able to confirm here at All You Can Heat that as of 7:45 PM on Friday, if you did indeed Google Bam Adebayo, that Bam Adeboye popped up instead.

Heat social media continued to have fun with this mishap and even dropped a jersey wallpaper in the Miami Vice jerseys with the two alternate names for Adebayo.

Adebayo is coming off a down statistical season in 2024-25 but is expected to be a key cog with the Miami Heat going forward. He signed an extension prior to last season that is slated to kick in following the 2025-26 season.

He did start to see more time at the 4 slot rather than the 5, thanks to the emergence of Kel'el Ware, the rookie Miami drafted in the 2024 draft. Most trade proposals and/or mock drafts seem to center around getting a player who can pair well with Adebayo and Tyler Herro.

We just hope that by the time opening night rolls back around in October, someone in Silicon Valley is an NBA fan and can get the proper name back up on their site.
