On a recent episode of "The OGs" podcast, for the first time this season Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller took fan questions. There were a lot of Miami Heat related questions that were interesting.
Does " Heat Culture" scar away players?
During the Jimmy Butler saga in Miami, many former players expressed concerns that "Heat Culture" was suffering. Why do stars leaving Miami often depart on bad terms? Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller shared their thoughts on the issue.
"Absolutely not," Miller said.
"Only if you lazy," Haslem added. "If you're lazy you ain't tryna win any mf way. We don't want your lazy a** anyways."
Call them biased, but Miller has played for multiple teams in his NBA career. As we know, Haslem played his whole career in Miami. The guys make a good point, saying if you're lazy, we don't want you. That goes for anything in life. If you are lazy, you will not make it. I am glad to see two former Miami players stick up for their former Franchise
Mike Miller says OKC finals win was his favorite in Big 3 era
There was a lot of excitement and expectations when the Big Three went together. When Miami lost in the 2011 NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks, there was a lot of pressure coming back to that season. Miami struggled against the Boston Celtics in the easter conference finals and was one loss away from losing it all.
LeBron James had one of the best games I've ever seen him play in Game 6 in Boston, and Miami returned to win in seven. Miami was the underdog against the up-and-coming Oklahoma City Thunder. Miami lost Game 1, and many people thought that Miami would lose another final. They were wrong. Miami won in five games.
Miller talked about why it was his favorite memory.
"The first championship was the most special for me," Miller said. "Because if we don't win that chip, who knows what happens."
"I've never been in a situation where we lost Game 1, and we were more confident that we would still win," Haslem said.
Miller is correct; if Miami lost another final, that roster would be different, and Miami's history would be completely different.
This was a fun episode of Haslem and Miller answering fan questions. There were a lot of Miami Heat questions, from what makes Erik Spoelstra a great coach to why Tyler Herro should be starting in the All-Star game and Chris Bosh reading Edgar Allen Poe before a big game. It was a fun listen.
