With as dynamic a duo as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo are expected to be when they finally suit up together this fall as members of the Miami Heat, it was only a matter of time before nicknames would start being thrown at the wall.
ESPN might've just kind of started that entire process by hard-launching their own nickname submission for Giannis and Bam. Unfortunately, it may not be one that resonates with the fans.
The "Brothers of Destruction" is not something that is going to roll off the tongue, but at least ESPN is bringing awareness to one of the league's most underrated duos.

I'm going to go out on a limb for Heat fans and suggest that this nickname is a work in progress, but, especially at this point, there's nothing that will dissuade fans from their excitement heading into this upcoming season.
Not even a bad nickname, or one that needs tweaking.
But the nickname situation aside, Heat fans can't help but feel as if the Giannis and Bam duo is being sorely overlooked by the rest of the league. Sure, there were a ton of intriguing moves made by other teams in the Eastern Conference, but there was no bigger one than the Heat trading for Giannis.
As we inch closer and closer to the start of the new season, that can't be lost in all the end-of-the-summer madness.
Nickname or not, Giannis and Bam teaming up should be a bigger story
Whether this nickname catches on or not, there's no question that the Heat should fuel a big storyline this season. Because if they can remain healthy, I'm not sure we've seen a duo like this in a very long time.
Even though Giannis and Bam haven't even played a minute together for the Heat, they have the potential to emerge as one of the most unconventional star duos in recent history. Their interchangeability on both ends of the floor will give the Heat an element that no other team in the league has in the frontcourt.
"Brothers of Destruction" or just Giannis and Bam, the Heat have the chance to be special this season. And there's no question that if Miami does reach those lofty expectations, it will likely be because of how uniquely special this dynamic duo projects to be.
Nickname or not, I imagine the Giannis and Bam duo is going to be a lot more respected than they are now in a few months. And, hey, you never know. Maybe the "Brothers of Destruction" nickname will eventually catch on?
