The Miami Heat may be pushing Bam Adebayo to the point where he may be forced to demand a trade away from the franchise. If the Heat continues down this road of mediocrity, it would be hard to blame him for such an uncharacteristic move.

But just because it's somewhat understandable doesn't mean it wouldn't be surprising. However, especially with how vocal he's been of late, Bam is growing tired of the status quo in Miami. Multiple times this season, he's said he's tired of being a Play-In Tournament team.

Unless the Heat get red-hot down the stretch, it appears that they're going to clinch their fourth-straight season in the Tournament. Clearly, it's beginning to wear on Bam.

The Heat are wasting Bam Adebayo's prime years

And honestly, Bam makes a great point. Even though he may never directly admit it, it does feel as if he is pretty much wasting the prime years of his career on a team that can't break out of the Play-In Tournament blues.

It has to be incredibly frustrating, especially considering that they were so close to winning a championship twice over the past six seasons. For the team not to continue to be aggressive in trying to get over the hump is borderline indefensible.

Perhaps most importantly, it's testing Bam's loyalty to the Heat. Again, as his frustrations continue to boil over, it's difficult to blame him.

Bam should be playing meaningful games in the postseason. He should be playing for championships. Instead, he's breaking his back in trying to carry this mediocre team into the playoffs, only to win the award of getting blown out in the first round.

When you think of it that way, Bam's concerns are fair.

The Heat must answer to Bam's concerns this summer

Something that the Heat will have to answer this offseason. Because if the front office expects to run back a similar roster next season, Bam may not have any other option but to do something bold.

If the Heat falters in their attempts to significantly improve the roster this summer, you'd have to imagine that won't sit well with Bam. At that point, he'd have a decision to make with his camp. After that, all bets are off.

The Heat will almost certainly try to make a big splash this summer (with all eyes on Giannis Antetokounmpo). However, if they fall short on those efforts, the Heat should prepare for a worst-case scenario in which Bam would ask for a trade.

Despite all that, I'd say it's still a low percentage possibility. But that more so speaks to Bam's loyalty as an individual than faith in this franchise to figure it out. However, if the Heat can't find a way out of mediocrity, Bam may not have another option.

The Heat's inability to break out of average could push Bam to uncharacteristic heights. And if that does end up happening, Miami would have no one to blame but themselves.
