The Golden State Warriors have reportedly explored the potential of a Jonathan Kuminga for Andrew Wiggins swap. If the Miami Heat were to sign off on such a move, it would finally grant Kuminga his wish to play in South Florida.

Even when Kuminga made his latest "trade demand" away from the Warriors, it was reported by local Heat reporters that he (and his camp) would welcome a trade to Miami.

Taking it even further back, since the offseason, it's been reported that Kuminga would open a trade to the Heat. However, at least up until now, Miami has been hesitant about making such a move.

It's far from a certainty right now, but there's reason to believe that the Heat's sentiment about Kuminga could be changing.

The Heat may want to take a bold risk on Jonathan Kuminga

If it has, there's reason to believe that a Kuminga for Wiggins swap could work for both the Warriors and Heat.

At this point, the Warriors just need to rip the band-aid off the Kuminga experiment. Even with the injury to Jimmy Butler, there's little evidence to suggest that this marriage is ever going to work between the two.

If they could swap Kuminga for a player who already has proven success in their system, it's easy to see why it would be such an appealing possibility.

On the other hand, the Heat could be looking to move off of Wiggins before the deadline. Without the guarantee that they'll be able to sign him in the offseason (if he were to test free agency), it would make much more sense for Miami to trade him rather than to keep him on the roster.

Taking a flier on Kuminga at this point could also be an appealing possibiliy for Miami.

Despite his struggles in Golden State, Kuminga is still just 23 years old, and if there's any team that could get the most out of him, it's the Heat. And if Kuminga genuinely wants to be in Miami, it would give him an even greater incentive to make things work with the team.

And, honestly, a clean slate could be an absolute career-saving move for Kuminga. He'd also love the opportunity to play a bigger role for a team compared to what he's currently doing in Golden State. For better or worse, that's exactly what he'd get in Miami.

If the Heat could get the Warriors to attach a draft pick to such a swap, Miami would be that much more interested in such a move. Plus, if Kuminga does have a strong second half of the season, it would give the team another potential trade piece for an upcoming all-out pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It remains to be seen how serious the Warriors or the Heat are about a potential Kuminga for Wiggins swap, but it's intriguing enough that the possibility could linger up to the NBA Trade Deadline.

And, at the very least, we'd know Kuminga would welcome a trade to the Heat.
