As the Miami Heat extended their win streak to seven after outlasting the Milwaukee Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo got an up-close look at what Heat Culture is all about. In the process, it may have been the Heat's best pitch to date for Giannis to seriously consider a move to Miami in the future.
Without Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell, Tyler Herro, and Nikola Jovic, the Heat didn't miss much of a beat against the Bucks. Controlling the game from whistle to whistle, the Heat were impressive throughout. And as Giannis even put it himself after the game, you just have to chalk up the effort to Heat Culture.
My goodness what an incredible week showcasing Heat ability to draft, identify guys, develop. Bam 83 points; Herro East player of Week last week; Ware historic stat line vs Nets; Larsson 28 tonight; Kas 18 tonight; Jaquez, Dru Smith making winning plays consistently. 7 wins in a…

The Heat were relentless from the opening tip. But it wasn't just Bam Adebayo this time around. As Pelle Larsson joked after the game, "Bam can't always score all the points every game."
Thursday night, it was Larsson finishing with a career high of 28 points. It was Kasparas Jakucionis chipping in with 18 points. More specifically, for the Heat, it was more of their culture leaking through.
"They're going to keep playing, man. Even if they don't knock down shots they're going to get 2nd chances, crash the boards, rebounds, find the open man, get to the FT line, move the ball, get the ball to Bam. Try to execute from there. They're going to play hard, they have guards who can penetrate/drive and kick/that's what they do. It has to be constant pressure. You have to attack them for 48 minutes... the moment you slip up a bit, that's when they get the edge."Giannis Antetokounmpo
This culture is more than effort and execution. It's the fruits of their labor showing up. It's the development that doesn't always get the recognition. It's the next man stepping up. It's the no excuses mentality of basketball.
It's infectious and impossible to deny when its excelling at the rate it is right now.
Perhaps most importantly, the Heat put its best foot forward right in front of Giannis. Even though they would never admit it, they have to love the fact that Giannis was in lockstep with many of the Heat players after the game, speaking to Heat Culture.
Giannis just made multiple references to Heat Culture in his postgame media session. I’m sure people will not overreact to this.

Again, especially against the Bucks, it was undeniable. The Heat resorted to players who aren't generally in the rotation; they went to zone in key moments. They were relying on Larsson and Jakucionis on offense.
Bam had six points through the first half, and the Heat was still leading by 10. Down three of their top four rotation players, it didn't seem to matter for Miami. And that's what makes their "culture" special.
That's what they're hoping appeals to Giannis most.
Sure, Giannis could theoretically be attracted to the warm weather and the beaches in Miami. But, from a basketball perspective, there's no better pitch for the Heat than their culture. And on Thursday night, it was on full display for Giannis to see.
The Heat may have just quietly made their best possible pitch to Giannis, and it seemed to have undoubtedly made an impression.
