The Miami Heat's worst fear of a robust Giannis Antetokounmpo trade market this summer may already be beginning to develop. At this rate, there's a good chance that the Heat could be easily outbid for a superstar target that they've put all their hopes in.

According to recent reporting, there are already whispers that the Boston Celtics could crash the Giannis sweepstakes this summer. As a team that has not shied away from making a big move, the Celtics' potential involvement in the Giannis sweepstakes should absolutely strike fear in the Heat's front office.

The last thing they need is one of their bitter rivals to swipe Giannis right from under their way.

The growing Giannis Antetokounmpo trade market

But even beyond the Celtics, the list for likely Giannis suitors is already bigger than it was just a few months ago at the NBA Trade Deadline.

A few months ago, the Heat just needed to outbid the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors. And they reportedly did accomplish that. Unfortunately, in the end, the Milwaukee Bucks elected to keep Giannis beyond the deadline in favor of taking this huge decision into the offseason.

Objectively, it was probably the right move for the Bucks, but the Heat were the big losers.

Because of the way the trade market prematurely looks for Giannis, Miami is going to have its hands full in winning the bidding war again.

Miami can expect the Timberwolves, Warriors, Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, and possibly even the San Antonio Spurs to check in on Giannis. And you can bet there's probably going to be a mystery team or two that emerges this summer.

How interested each of those teams would be in going all-in for Giannis remains to be seen, but there are a few of those teams that would easily be able to outbid the Heat if they were willing to put everything and anything on the table for Giannis.

Heat's worst-case offseason scenario starts with missing on Giannis

And that's the fear that the front office has have heading into the offseason.

Because of so much that is at stake for this Heat franchise, at the precipice of a crossroad, a worst-case offseason scenario for the team likely begins with the Giannis dream dying.

Miami has been waiting for this very opportunity. All they've wanted is to put themselves in a position to come through. Theoretically, they have. But it's all about closing now. Something that this franchise has struggled with of late.

The rumored growing list of potential Giannis suitors is only going to make it that much more difficult. It has quietly been the Heat's biggest fear, and it's slowly already starting to play out in real-time.
