Heat's chemistry may be ahead of schedule after intentional move before training camp

An NBA team can have all the talent in the world, but if the team chemistry isn't where it needs to be, that talent will be worth nothing in the end. It seems like the Miami Heat is making a strong effort to ensure that doesn't become a problem for them this season.

With still two weeks before training camp, the Heat players are holding a "team camp" in an attempt to build chemistry, both on and off the floor, before the start of the season.

Davion Mitchell, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and other Heat players have been chronicling their journey on social media the last few days.

And from the looks of it, it does seem as if the Heat are going to be ahead of schedule in terms of chemistry once training camp begins. Whether that will translate to their on-court play remains to be seen. However, one thing that can't be debated is the fact that this intentional move (and the rest of the team's willingness to buy in and participate) will certainly put this team in a great spot once training camp opens.

Especially for a team that will be implementing so many new (and important) players this season, this is one of the moves that could pay huge dividends in the long run. I won't go as far as to say that the difference between a team winning a championship or not will revolve around whether they hand a pre-training camp session or not, but you certainly have to love this effort.

Add in the fact that the Heat franchise is coming off a few difficult seasons over the last few years, between the Jimmy Butler drama and then trying to figure out what life was going to be after him, and it's safe to say that the new Giannis era is off to a fantastic start.

Again, holding a few training sessions and then getting on a yacht together before training camp is not going to guarantee anything for the Heat this upcoming season. But even if it just builds this team chemistry off the court, that's a huge win already for the new chapter of Heat basketball.

I wouldn't say that team chemistry is half the battle en route to a championship, but it's always better when a team enjoys playing with each other. And, at least to a certain extent, it does seem as if the Heat are doing whatever they can to ensure that is indeed the case to start off this new era.
