The official countdown until the start of Miami Heat training camp is underway. And with media day just around the corner (September 28), the Heat have finally rounded out the 21 players (the league-allowed limit) who will participate in the first training camp of the Giannis Antetokounmpo era.
The Heat's training camp roster will be divided up into 14 standard contracts, three two-way deals, and four camp tryout invites.

In what is shaping up to be one of the most important training camps in recent years, it will be interesting to see how the next week shakes out. Sure, all the attention surrounding the Heat's training camp will revolve around Giannis, but make no mistake: there are several other intriguing storylines that are worth keeping a close eye on.
There are certainly some big questions about how Giannis will look in his first training camp with the Heat, and understandably so. After such an injury-plagued season, there will be plenty of natural interest in how Giannis (and the Heat) will handle his ramp-up.
Not to mention the other new faces (like Klay Thompson, Bobby Portis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Nick Richards, Ryan Conwell, and Tre Donaldson) who will be attempting to acclimate themselves to the Heat's way of operation.
There are also numerous training camp battles that could take shape and create some difficult roster decisions on cut-down day. Will any of the Exhibit 10 players make any type of lasting impression? It's quite outlandish to suggest, but never say never.
After the big moves for Giannis and Klay, there really aren't any big surprises to this training camp roster. But that doesn't mean it won't be an intriguing training camp week for Miami. As a treat for the fans, there's a pretty quick turnaround too, with the team's first pre-season game taking place on October 3 when the Heat take on the Toronto Raptors in Quebec City, Canada.
With the offseason officially in the books, the Heat's long-time dream of seeing Giannis in a Heat uniform is finally coming to fruition in the next few days. It's truly an exciting time for Miami.
