The Miami Heat have won two in a row and will try to keep the momentum going when they host the Atlanta Hawks at Kaseya Center on Thursday night.
Here’s what to know for Thursday night’s tilt.
How to watch Heat vs Hawks
Time: 7:30 pm ET
Location: Kaseya Center, Miami
TV: FanDuel Sports Network
Stream: NBA League Pass, Fubo
Notable injuries
Alec Burks (lower back discomfort) and Duncan Robinson (lower back pain) are questionable. Robinson missed Tuesday’s win over the Golden State Warriors with the same injury.
The Hawks are dealing with a number of injuries to rotation players, including Clint Capela, Larry Nance Jr., Jalen Johnson and Keaton Wallace. They’re all out. Trae Young is listed as probable with right Achilles tendinitis.
Quick scout
The Hawks had won three in a row before losing to the Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. But they are 8-4 in March so far and have moved up to seventh in the East. They are in pole position for the top spot in the play-in tournament.
It’s been a rough season on both ends for the Hawks. They rank in the bottom half of the league in ORTG and DRTG. But they are playing better lately and have the league’s seventh-best offense over the last 10 games thanks to improved play from Trae Young, Onyeka Okongwu and rookie Zaccharie Risacher.
Key matchups
Bam Adebayo vs Okongwu: Okongwu, the fifth-year center, has taken a leap since being named the full-time starter in January. He’s averaging 14.7 points and 10 rebounds while shooting nearly 60% in 31 starts. He does most of his work in the paint and has developed nice chemistry with Young in the pick-and-roll. This matchup is as much about Young as it is Okongwu. Adebayo will have his hands full guarding their pick-and-roll attack.
Tyler Herro vs Dyson Daniels: Herro is the target of the opponent's best perimeter defender on a nightly basis. It was Gary Payton II on Tuesday, and it’ll be Dyson Daniels tonight. Herro was impactful moving without the ball earlier in the week, and he’ll have to do the same in this one. Dribbling around Daniels – the league’s steals leader – isn’t recommended. Daniels is considered among the favorites for Defensive Player of the Year.
Betting
The Heat are 1.5-point favorites in Miami.
