It's become pretty clear that the Miami Heat are still holding out hope for the Giannis Antetokounmpo dream. And if Bleacher Report's recent proposed trade for Giannis is close to what could eventually transpire down the road, the Heat should do whatever they can to keep this dream alive.

In this hypothetical deal, the Heat would be rewarded for their loyalty to the Giannis dream by acquiring him and Bobby Portis in exchange for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Terry Rozier, a 2030 first-round pick, a 2032 first-round pick, and a 2031 first-round pick swap.

If this is what it would take to acquire Giannis, whether it's next summer or in 2027, the Heat should be more than willing to roll the dice.

Breaking down the Heat's proposed trade for Giannis

The Heat should be willing to jump all over this deal if this is all it took to land Giannis. I'd suspect it may end up taking a bit more, but this would be a pretty great deal all around for the Heat. This deal would almost certainly come down to how Jaquez Jr. and Ware look this season.

Right now, this is the type of offer that would look underwhelming. However, if Jaquez does bounce back from a sophomore slump and if Ware does make the developmental leap that some believe he can make, this offer would look that much better.

Of course, this is under the assumption that a Giannis-Bam Adebayo duo would be able to lead Miami back into the championship picture. The supporting cast would still loom large for the Heat's chances, but with the foundation set, this is a move they should have no problem pulling the trigger on.

For the Bucks, they'd have to believe in Herro and Ware as two young players willing to pivot around, or perhaps even flip them for additional draft assets, and it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to take a flier on Jaquez Jr.

Either way, this is one of those deals that the Heat should be willing to make right now - or perhaps even at the NBA Trade Deadline - and now lose much sleep on.

The Heat are desperate to get in on the star market again. And as they begin to restock their assets, there's no question that Giannis remains atop their list of dream targets. You never know; maybe their persistence will end up paying off?
