Miami Heat get a break ahead of next game vs Mavericks

The Miami Heat will get a break ahead of their next game as they attempt to get their first consecutive win since the opening week of the season.
Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic will miss the next week with a right wrist sprain, the team announced Thursday, essentially ruling him out for Sunday’s game in Miami.
Luka Doncic has been ruled out for Sunday's game in Miami.
The Heat played their last game on Monday night, a blowout win over the Philadelphia 76ers, getting five days off between games. So they were already entering Sunday’s tilt with a major rest advantage. The Mavericks will be in Denver Friday night.
Doncic played through the injury in Tuesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans, but the Mavericks on Thursday announced he will be sidelined for at least four games and will be reevaluated in one week.
Meanwhile, the Heat should get guard Terry Rozier back from a foot injury that sidelined him in Monday’s win. Rozier could return to a bench role after Miami’s revamped starting lineup out-scored Philadelphia by 12. Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s status remains unclear as he recovers from a right foot sprain.
Besides Jaquez, the Heat should be at full strength for Sunday’s game.
