In an anonymous poll of NBA players, they believe that if Giannis Antetokounmpo isn't playing for the Milwaukee Bucks this upcoming season, he will be in a Miami Heat uniform.

It's a level of belief and optimism that many Heat fans can't seem to fathom or process. The fact that this is a sentiment that is growing with players across the league is quite fascinating, if nothing else.

As noted by this article by The Athletic, the NBA is a players' league. So it would make sense to get their input on everything that is transpiring on the Giannis front. At least for now, there seems to be some growing momentum for the Heat.

Of course, this is under the assumption that Giannis is traded. It should be noted that most don't believe Giannis is going to be traded until it actually happens. But if it does, many believe it'll be the Heat crossing that finish line first.

The Giannis to Heat momentum continues to grow

Roughly a month before the 2026 NBA Draft, there is a sense that momentum is beginning to push toward the Heat's Giannis agenda. This is all changing week to week. For example, last week, it was the Boston Celtics that were the buzz team connected to Giannis. That has begun to shift slightly.

There's reason to believe that another team could enter the fray next week. But, at least for now, it does seem as if the Heat are the hot team on the hunt for Giannis.

If it's any consolation, the Heat are the one team that has kind of stuck around since this process began.

Still, that hasn't prevented many Heat fans from being bullish on this entire issue.

Heat fans are struggling to believe in the front office

Honestly, it's hard to blame them. Heat fans are having trouble believing in the front office because they've been burned time and time again in the past. Especially over the last few years, the Heat has consistently fallen short in its pursuit of star players.

Just over the last few years, their pursuits of Donovan Mitchell, Damian Lillard, and Kevin Durant led nowhere. And those failures are very much part of the reason why the Heat currently find themselves in the mediocrity they are stuck in.

Theoretically speaking, the only way that's going to change is if they can find a path to Giannis this summer. Even then, adding only Giannis still would leave this front office with a lot of work to be done in building around the new core.

Before any of that, the first step is certainly to land the star. And Giannis is clearly the No. 1 target this summer. Despite some momentum building in the Heat's favor, including from some anonymous players across the league, there's still a sense of doubt surrounding the fan base.

With how the last few offseason have gone for the Heat's front office, it's very hard to blame them.
