It would be shocking if the Miami Heat didn't explore adding another big man between now and the start of the season. But even if they did, you'd have to imagine they're going to need to make some sort of move to solidify their frontcourt depth at some point soon. Theoretically speaking, Nikola Vucevic could be a natural potential fit for the team.

Whether they can find a way to get into the market for him or not remains to be seen, but there's a very clear path toward the Heat pulling off a move. Of course, it would revolve around finding a taker for Terry Rozier. Even though that may seem to be an impossible task at the moment, it's a potential path that could help them land the frontcourt depth they may need to make a real run at the playoffs.

Vucevic is a player that many across the league believe will eventually be traded or bought out at some point this season. The Heat have been linked to Vucevic before, and he's certainly a name that fans know well - and probably for all the wrong reasons.

Nikola Vucevic has been a notorious Heat killer

Per Stathead, Vucevic has feasted against the Heat over the course of his career. In 47 games played against Miami, Vucevic has averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists per game. Vucevic did most of his damage against the Heat in an Orlando Magic uniform, but he has still been a worthy opponent during his time in Chicago.

Even though Vucevic is no longer in the prime of his career, there's reason to believe he could still play a vital role on a winning team. I'm not sure if the Heat would be Vucevic's first option, especially if he were bought out, but he would be a seemingly good fit backing up Bam Adebayo and Kel'el Ware.

Because of how good Bam is on the defensive end of the floor, there are probably some lineups in which both could play together.

If the Bulls are looking to dump Vucevic, the Heat should be willing listeners. Again, for such a deal to even be remotely possible, they'd either have to sell Chicago on absorbing Rozier's contract or find another team that would. That might be an impossible task, but there is a path for the Heat and Bulls if they want to take it.

Who knows how much of a difference Vucevic would make on the Heat on paper, but there's no question he could be the exact veteran backup big man that the team should be willing to take a flier on this season.
