Pro: Offensive skillset

In terms of skillset, Lopez has earned the nickname "Splash Mountain" by being one of the best shooting bigs in the game. Over the last two seasons, Lopez has shot 37% from three-point range on about 5 attempts per game. Lopez can add the needed spacing for players such as Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo to operate around the rim and in the mid-range and can shoot over most players given he is 7-foot-1 with a 7-foot-6 wingspan.

Lopez can also be a threat in the post if teams decide to play a switch-heavy defense and can attack mismatches when given the ball down low. With his offensive repertoire, Lopez would add another scoring element to Miami's offense.

Another positive about Lopez has been his availability. Lopez played 78 and 79 games the last two seasons. Seeing what Miami has endured with injuries, adding a durable player at a key position can potentially prevent Miami from stretches where they fall off of a cliff in the regular season and put themselves in a hole where they find themselves in the play-in tournament.
