2 Tyler Herro trades that could completely reshape the Miami Heat's roster
By Brennan Sims
As long as Tyler Herro continues to perform well and shoot the ball (40% on eight 3PA) at a high level, there will always be rumors circulating that the Miami Heat may trade him away. However, team president Pat Riley has assured Herro that he will only be moved if it means acquiring a future Hall of Famer -- a real needle-mover.
Unfortunately, very few players fit that description and are available for trade. LeBron James and Kevin Durant are unlikely to be dealt and it's highly doubtful that the Golden State Warriors would ever consider trading their franchise player, Steph Curry.
Other available big names such as Dejounte Murray, Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins come far short of fitting that description.
Would the Miami Heat ever trade Tyler Herro for something short of a superstar? If so, there are deals out there that might still be able to help maximize Jimmy Butler's championship window.
While Riley wants to keep his promise to Herro, it remains to be seen whether the team would ever consider trading him for players who are more natural fits around Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. At this point, it's unclear if any substantially better options are on the table.
That said, here are a couple of deals that the Heat could explore that wouldn't necessarily be for an All-NBA talent, but could still reshape the roster and give head coach Erik Spoelstra some much-needed options for the playoff run.
