Minimum-level shooting guard targets for the Heat
Eric Gordon: Gordon will reportedly decline his player option after a frustrating year in Phoenix and become an unrestricted free agent. No doubt he’s looking for an opportunity to play on a contender. A knockdown 3-point shooter who tries on defense and can run some offense, Gordon could be a difference-maker in the right situation.
Lonnie Walker IV: He’s been on the fringe of NBA rosters most of his career but the former Hurricane’s athleticism is undeniable. He quietly improved from 3-point range last season (38.4%) and is still just 25. He could be a high-upside addition to Miami’s development pipeline.
Alec Burks: A professional bucket-getter, as they say. But he wasn’t very good at his profession in New York last season. Burks could be looking for an opportunity to play as a situational reserve who can jolt the offense.
Evan Fournier: The Pistons hold a $19 million team option on Fournier and could decline it to open up cap space. Fournier hasn’t played much the last two years but he’s a career 37.4% 3-point shooter with size (6-foot-6) and scoring chops.
