3. Use post-ups to set up better shots

Bam Adebayo isn’t a great post-up player, and the Celtics will let him work the post as much as he wants this series. They know a parade of mid-range jumpers from Bam won’t kill them.

But the Heat can turn those post-ups into better scoring opportunities. Too often when Adebayo gets the ball in the post, the rest of his teammates stand around and watch. Instead, Miami’s shooters should take a page out of the Golden State Warriors playbook and use the post-up to set up outside jumpers.

For instance, here, instead of standing around while Adebayo jab steps through the shot clock, Tyler Herro and Caleb Martin could run post splits or screen for each other to set up an open 3-pointer.

The Heat have established Adebayo in the post through the first three games, and now would be a great time to add a layer to that and use Adebayo in the post as a trigger for high-quality looks.
