Have the Heat replenished their prospect pipeline?

There are 11 rookies on the Heat’s summer league club. That’s a lot of unproven talent, even for LVSL. But the Heat are in the process of replenishing their development pipeline after two years of attrition.

Previous developmental projects like Gabe Vincent, Max Strus, Omer Yurtseven, Caleb Martin and Orlando Robinson are no longer with the team. Last year’s two-way players – Jamal Cain, Cole Swider, Alondes Williams and RJ Hampton – didn’t pop and have been replaced by Dru Smith, Zyon Pullin and Keshad Johnson.

Having used three first-round picks in the three years for the first time since 2005, the Heat have mostly backfilled those undrafted gems with first-round talents. But the Heat take pride in their development program and will be looking to polish the next diamond in the rough.

Among the undrafted rookies on Miami’s summer league roster include Gabe Brown (Michigan State), JC Butler (UC Irvine), Caleb Daniels (Villanova), Neal Sako (France), Isaiah Stevens (Colorado State), Bryson Warren (Overtime Elite) and Warren Washington (Texas Tech).
