3 Heat players who earned untouchable status, 3 who are expendable

If the Miami Heat aim to make major upgrades this summer, they first have to decide who is untouchable in trade talks.

Untouchable: Terry Rozier

Rozier did not play much after the Heat acquired him from the Charlotte Hornets in mid-January. With a small sample size of just 31 games played in a Heat uniform, it’s difficult to predict how he would have played if healthy. However, that is the reason why I am listing him with an untouchable status.

Terry Rozier is the exact type of player that this roster was missing. A shifty playmaking point guard who is also elite at creating his own shot. The only other player who is capable of doing that at a high level on this roster is Tyler Herro, who has proven to be very inconsistent, as well as injury-prone. In addition to his elite skill set, Rozier has the character of your ideal Miami Heat player. Whenever he is on the court, he brings a different level of energy due to his tenacity that he plays with.

Rozier did have a few promising performances in a Heat uniform. His most notable performance was when he propelled the Heat to a crucial victory over the New York Knicks, 109-99, on April 2. He finished with 34 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists while shooting 8 of 11 from behind the arc.

He has been injured for the majority of his time with the Heat. Even when he was playing, he had been coming off of a rough leg injury that kept lingering. After he healed from the leg injury, he suffered neck problems that prevented him from returning to the playoffs.
