Moving away from guard help, the Heat could also use an answe at power forward. The Nikola Jovic experiment has been exciting, and he’s shown flashes in his last 10 starts, but the Heat need a proven option for when the playoffs arrive.

Finney-Smith is an experienced, versatile defender capable of making open 3s at a high clip (38.6% on 3s this season, 43.2% from the corners). He’d be the closest thing the Heat have had to P.J. Tucker in two years and an obvious option to start and close games.

The Nets are reportedly looking for two first-round picks in return for Finney-Smith, but if no one reaches that asking price the Heat should see how much it takes to land the 30-year-old forward.
