The Miami Heat will select at No. 15 in June's NBA draft and will have a chance to add to its current group of impressive young players that already includes Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jovic. Here are four players who the Heat should have high on their draft board.
Dalton Knecht, Guard, Tennessee
Dalton Knecht might be the best shooter in the draft. He shot nearly 40% on 6.5 3-point attempts per game for the Volunteers last season. In today’s NBA, everyone is looking for shooting. Knecht can space the floor and show flashes of being able to take his defender off the dribble.
Knecht's game reminds me of former Heat guard Max Strus. They have a similar build and, like Strus, Knecht can shoot the ball in a variety of ways. They can space the floor off the ball and shoot off screens and dribble handoffs, which Miami has in their offense. Knecht is a plug-and-play player.
Rumors have him going anywhere from no. 8 overall to 15. If he is on the board at 15, I can see Miami selecting him.
