4 Reclamation projects Miami Heat Culture can save this offseason
By Max Marshall
Kira Lewis Jr.
Kira Lewis Jr. was one of my favorite players in the 2022 draft but his career was derailed when he tore his ACL and suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee.
An injury like that can be a blow for a young player, especially for a small, fast guard like the 6-foot-1 Lewis. In New Orleans, Lewis could never crack the nightly rotation and was traded to the Toronto Raptors, where he played one game, and then to the Utah Jazz, where he had flashes.
Lewis, coming off a knee injury, still has his speed, making him dangerous in transition and a valuable half-court driver. Lewis shot nearly 61% at the rim on the season. Where he struggles is with his jumper -- he's a career 29.4% three-point shooter.
Still, Lewis has talent and Miami could use another development guard. Lewis brings speed to the guard position, which Miami doesn't have on the roster.
