Move on: Alondes Williams

Alondes Williams is an intriguing prospect with the ability to score on all three levels and distribute the ball efficiently. Last season, he earned the G League Most Improved Player award while on a two-way contract with Miami.

Despite averaging 10 points per game this summer, Williams has already had multiple chances with the Nets and the Heat to secure an NBA roster spot. With Miami removing his qualifying offer, Williams is free to sign elsewhere.

The Heat like Williams but he might look for an opportunity to compete for a spot on a less crowded roster elsewhere.

Move on: Dru Smith

Dru Smith has been largely forgotten after his season-ending ACL injury. Before the injury, he was impactful in some of Miami’s early regular-season wins, including a 12-point performance in a comeback win against the San Antonio Spurs and a nine-point game against the Hawks, both without Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro.

With the success of other guards in the summer league and the uncertainty surrounding his ACL injury, it might be time for the Heat to develop other guards despite their previous interest in Smith.
