4 Youth-inspired Heat trades that signal end of Jimmy Butler era

Jimmy Butler wants an extension but what if Miami isn't willing to offer one? Here are four trades the Heat could make this summer.

Knicks get: Jimmy Butler

Heat get: Donte DiVincenzo, Josh Hart, 2025 first-round pick

The Knicks would be saying, "Hey, we have to win it all this year!" while the Heat would be tripling down on younger players who fit Heat Culture. Jimmy would again be a number two option in New York, playing off Jalen Brunson. He'd thrive next to Brunson as a bruising scoring wing, but the fit next to Julius Randle would be clunky.

DiVincenzo is a confident flamethrower; the Heat can't get enough of them. He's fearless and stepped up in the big moments during the playoffs. Hart is a versatile, valuable Villanova player. He's a flawless role player.

It's unlikely the Knicks will move either of these two because of their strong Villanova ties. Brunson, Hart, and DiVincenzo won a national title together at Villanova. They are probably looking to add another former Wildcat, Mikal Bridges, to the mix, though it's also unlikely the Brooklyn Nets will trade with the Knicks (it hasn't happened since 1983).
