Defensive rating

After a rough couple of months, the Heat rank eighth in defensive rating coming out of the break, allowing 113 points every possessions. 

Here’s how Miami’s defensive rating trended by month this season:

The Heat have the league’s top defensive rating in February and should continue trending up as the season goes on, especially with Butler playing his best two-way basketball of the season. The additions of Rozier and Delon Wright will help Miami’s point-of-attack defense going forward, too.
