Kelly Oubre Jr.

There were reports that linked Kelly Oubre Jr. to the Miami Heat during this year’s offseason. The interest from Oubre Jr. was there, but it seemed like the Heat didn’t pursue a pairing to bring him aboard. However, after signing a veteran minimum contract to play for the Philadelphia 76ers this season, he could be a realistic target for Miami’s financial budget this time around.

Oubre Jr. can bring some similarities on the defensive end as Martin has, but with a much better offensive game. He averaged 15.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals on 44.1% shooting across 68 games for the 76ers this season.

The year prior, he averaged a career-high 20.3 points for the Hornets. It was surprising to see a talented player of Oubre's caliber wind up as a last-minute veteran minimum signing a year ago, and some could argue he out-played that contract and could be due for a raise of his own. If that is the case, the Heat could potentially move a contract or two around to bring Oubre in with the team's mid-level exception, at the very least.

Although he is a streaky outside shooter at just 32.7% for his career from beyond the arc, there are still some capabilities in spurts from that facet of the game. Oubre Jr. is listed at 6’7 and brings two-way versatility as someone that can play shooting guard or either of the forward positions.
