Terry Rozier
When the Heat traded for former Charlotte Hornets scoring guard Terry Rozier in February, there was plenty to be optimistic about. This Miami team has been short on offensive production, particularly in the backcourt. Rozier was averaging north of 23 points on the Hornets this season on efficient shooting splits.
At the most unfortunate time, his sudden neck injury towards the end of the regular season kept him shelved for both play-in games and the postseason. Rozier got his stock up following an impressive run when he was finally getting in a groove offensively. Pat Riley mentioned that he is excited to see a full season of "Scary Terry" in South Beach, but he also made it a point to iterate the team needing change.
If it comes down to it, Rozier has a team-friendly contract that can be seen as an attractive asset. He surely has value as a veteran scorer in the middle of his prime years. And because of his near-$24 million salary, he can also help build a deal for a star.
