The 5 most lopsided playoff games of the Heat-Celtics rivalry
4. 2023 Eastern Conference Finals Game 3
On the other side of the coin, the Miami Heat's largest victory over the Celtics came during their improbable run to the NBA Finals in 2023. After shocking the world by taking the first two games in Boston, Miami returned home in Game 3 and destroyed the Celtics 128-102.
In a victory that big, it would be normal to think that Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo had monster nights on both ends. While Butler and Adebayo did wreak havoc defensively, both players combined to only score 29 points. The leading scorer for the Heat that night had as many points as Butler and Adebayo put together, and that was Gabe Vincent who missed only three shots on 14 attempts and scored 29 points with six made threes.
Miami put on a clinic from downtown, drilling 19 triples and shooting 54 percent from beyond the arc. Key contributors who helped out Vincent were Duncan Robinson, who made five threes, and Caleb Martin, who sunk four triples.
Not only was this arguably Miami's best team performance against the Celtics, but it was also one of their best performances of last year's postseason and will be remembered forever in Heat history.
