3. Hunter Sallis
This would be a pure upside pick if the Heat selected Hunter Sallis in the second round. Sallis has a lot of potential on both ends of the floor, is an excellent ball handler and has a variety of moves.
He is one of the few players in the draft who is in control with the ball in his hands. What impresses me the most is his ability to change speeds to score. Sallis has a lot of ways to score in the paint. Athletic enough to dunk and find created ways to score at the rim, having a soft touch around the rim for a guard is a game changer.
Sallis is a sneaky good passer as well. He's willing to throw lobs -- which Miami needs for Bam Adebayo -- and full-court passes. He doesn't stop moving on offense, cuts without the ball, and relocates to provide space for a three. Sallis can shoot the three in a lot of ways. From the catch, he is creating for himself. Sallis can shoot from range as well.
Sallis has a lot of potential defensively. He does a good job staying in front of his man, has quick hands, and good foot speed to recover. Sallis is a streaky shooter who needs to focus more on consistency.
