5 Players the Miami Heat Should Avoid Acquiring This Offseason
1. Klay Thompson
The Heat don't need Klay Thompson in 2025. If this were 2019 Klay, I'd be all in. Back then, he was still an elite defender and a top-two shooter on the planet. He drove to the rim at a rate we had never seen, and his irrational confidence was equal to his standing as a player.
That's not the case these days. It seemed like Klay was trying to shoot his way out of his slump earlier this year. That's what shooters are supposed to do, but this time, it felt different. It seemed like we were watching Klay Thompson deteriorate right before our eyes.
Shooting is something the Heat could always add. With their struggling offense, more floor spacers can't hurt. That's only if Klay views himself as a spacer. He'd be a role player here, not the third member of a dynastic run. Who knows if he could stomach that? We already have Duncan Robinson, who is a better player and arguably a better shooter at this point. Unless it's on a massive discount, the Heat probably can't afford him anyway. – Brennan Sims
