Advanced Scout: Heat to face Victor Wembanyama, more stars in upcoming stretch
Tuesday Nov. 14 vs Charlotte Hornets (In-Season Tournament)
Biggest storyline:
Injuries sunk the Hornets last season, and keeping their players on the court remains the primary focus this season. Charlotte is already without James Bouknight (left knee surgery), Cody Martin (knee), Frank Ntilikina (tibia) and Terry Rozier (groin strain) while Gordon Hayward is day-to-day with a hamstring strain. Miles Bridges is still serving a league suspension due to allegations of assault.
Toughest matchup:
LaMelo Ball has averaged 14.6 points, 8.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds in nine games against the Heat in his career. His up-tempo playing style is always an adjustment for opposing teams. But the most interesting matchup will be between centers Bam Adebayo and Mark Williams. In their previous encounter, Williams showcased his skills by scoring 18 points and securing 20 rebounds, whereas Adebayo managed only 14 points and six rebounds.
Starting lineup:
PG: LaMelo Ball
SG: Bryce McGowens (Terry Rozier and Cody Martin out)
SF: Brandon Miller (Gordon Haywood: Day-to-day injury, Miles Bridges: Suspended)
PF: P.J. Washington
C: Mark Williams
