Bam Adebayo joins a star-studded Olympic men’s basketball roster that includes four NBA MVPs as the U.S. eyes a fifth consecutive title in Paris this summer.
Team USA announced the 12-player roster on Wednesday, ahead of the July 26 opening ceremony.
Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo will compete for gold alongside LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and Joel Embiid.
Adebayo will compete alongside LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Joel Embiid on what is arguably the most star-studded U.S. roster since the 1990s.

This group includes James, Durant, Curry and Embiid, who have all won an NBA MVP, and 11 2024 NBA All-Stars, including Adebayo. It’s the most combined All-Star selections (84) of any Olympic team. Every player on the team previously made an NBA All-Star team for the second time in Olympic history since 1996.
Adebayo, Tatum, Booker and Holiday were all on the Tokyo Olympic team that won gold in 2020.
Since then, Team USA teammates and coaches have raved about Adebayo’s contributions to winning gold.
"He is absolutely elite and it was really fun coaching him in the Olympics," Team USA and Golden State Warriors Steve Kerr said in 2022. "Just a great guy, great teammate.”
The U.S. is attempting to bounce back after finishing fourth in last summer’s World Cup. Edwards and Haliburton return from that team to make their Olympic debut.
The biggest challengers to the United States include the three medalists from the 2023 World Cup: Germany, Serbia and Canada. Serbia could be with Nikola Jokic and current Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic. Canada has a talented roster that could include Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Victor Wembanyama is expected to make his Olympic debut for France.
At least one of Luka Doncic (Slovenia) and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Greece) will not be in Paris since their nations were drawn into the same qualifying tournament in July. Only the winner of that tournament qualifies for the Olympics.
