Breaking down the best prop bets for the Miami Heat-Philadelphia 76ers matchup on Wednesday.

The Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers will battle for the No. 7 seed on Wednesday night, and the winner gets a more favorable matchup (the New York Knicks) than the eventual No. 8 seed will (they’ll face the Boston Celtics) in the first round of the playoffs.

Miami is down a key player for this play-in tournament game in guard Terry Rozier, but that opens up some interesting options in the prop market for the Heat.

Also, there is a Sixers player that I'm targeting as a shooter in this matchup. Let's dive in:

Heat vs. Sixers best NBA prop bets

  • Tyler Herro OVER 4.5 assists
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr. OVER 6.5 points
  • Buddy Hield OVER 1.5 3-pointers made

Tyler Herro OVER 4.5 assists

With Rozier out, Tyler Herro should take on a primary ball-handling role in this game, and he closed out the regular season with four straight games of five or more assists.

Herro missed a ton of the 2023-24 season, but he’s averaging 4.5 assists per game overall. He’s recorded five and seven dimes in two games against Philly.

While I expect Jimmy Butler to run the show tonight, don’t be shocked if Herro clears this prop on Wednesday.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. OVER 6.5 points

There was a promising quote from Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra regarding rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. at the end of the regular season.

“Really important,” Spoelstra recently said about Jaquez’s strong close to the regular season. “I just mentioned something to him in the locker room after the game that he looked like himself from earlier in the season. He has his legs under him, he’s healthy. I think he has a clear mind, he has 70-plus games under his belt. He feels good, I think he has an idea of what his role is right now. There’s clarity on that.

“We need his offensive production. We need him getting downhill, we need his post-ups, we need him creating something in those possessions when we get a little bit jammed up and he can create something out of nothing. You can see where he’s improved, his passing has improved, his play-making and we need all of that at this time of year.”

This season, Jaquez is averaging 11.9 points per game, but he finished with 38 combined points in his last two games. Remember, Jaquez had a 31-point game against the Sixers on Christmas Day earlier this season.

At plus money, I think the Heat rookie is worth a shot to finish with seven or more points. He could end up with double-digits in this game with Rozier’s shots now up for grabs in the offense.

Buddy Hield OVER 1.5 3-pointers made

I love this prop for Sixers sharpshooter Buddy Hield, who has made at least two shots from beyond the arc in seven of his last 12 games.

Hield could be a key player for the Sixers tonight if Miami tries to key in on Joel Embiid, as they’ll need to open up the floor to allow the reigning MVP to work.

This season, Hield is shooting 38.6 percent from 3, and he’s taking nearly six 3s per game over his last 12 matchups. If he sees that kind of volume, he should clear this number on Wednesday.
