Best NBA prop bets today for Mavericks vs. Heat (Jimmy Butler's usage is increasing)
By Peter Dewey
The Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat are battling for playoff position in their respective conferences on Wednesday night, and this game is expected to be close with Dallas favored by just two points.
If you aren't sold on betting a side in this game, the prop market is a great place to look, especially with both teams on the second night of a back-to-back.

Here’s a look at the props I’m targeting for one of tonight’s best matchups:
Mavericks vs. Heat best NBA prop bets
- Jimmy Butler OVER 21.5 points
- Kyrie Irving OVER 24.5 points
Jimmy Butler OVER 21.5 points
Playoff Jimmy is here?
Over his last three games, Jimmy Butler has scored 22, 27, and 25 points for the Miami Heat, attempting at least 14 shots in every game.
While I’d love to see more volume from the Heat star, he is getting to the line at a high rate, attempting 33 free throws over that three-game stretch.
That shows how much more aggressive Butler has been, yet his points prop for this game is right around his season average of 21.1 points per game. I’ll bet on him to hit the OVER in a must-win for the Heat
Kyrie Irving OVER 24.5 points
Kyrie Irving didn’t need to score much in Dallas’ blowout win over the Charlotte Hornets (18 points on 6-of-15 shooting), but he’s been ultra-consistent as of late, scoring 24 or more points in 11 of his last 13 games for the Mavs.
On the season, Irving is averaging 25.6 points per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 40.7 percent from 3-point range.
While Miami is usually one of the best defensive teams in the league (third in defensive rating over its last 10 contests), I still don’t mind taking a shot on Irving at this price. The star guard came close to this number in his first meeting against the Heat (23 points on 9-of-19 shooting) and the volume has been there for him as of late, attempting at least 19 shots in 10 of his last 12.
I’ll go OVER for Kyrie on Wednesday night.
