Every Miami Heat player in history to wear No. 7: Including standout rookie
By Brennan Sims
Miami Heat rookie Kel'el Ware is set to sport the no. 7, making him the 13th player to rock the lucky number in Heat history.
Some ultra-talented players have worn the jersey in Miami, and there are some head-scratching names, too. Will Ware end his career on the high or disappointing end of Heat players to wear no. 7? Only time will tell. For now, we'll rank these 12 Heat players based on what we know.
12. Mark Davis
4 Games played
The 6-foot-7 swingman out of Louisiana had the briefest of brief stints in a Heat jersey. Davis only played four games, averaging 2.3 points. He did not impact the Heat much but played 230 total NBA games, netting over $800,000. That's a good gig.
11. Don McClean
8 games played
These first few contestants have limited histories of wearing the number seven for the Heat. Don Mcclean wasn't able to stick with the Heat, as he only suited up in eight games for the 2001 Heat. Lockdown defender Bruce Bowen got the majority of the Small Foward minutes that year.
10. Wesley Person
16 games played
Wesley Person played 16 games for the Heat and started in three during the 2005 season. In 2005, Miami made it to the Eastern Conference Finals and would have won if Dwyane Wade's ribs were intact. Person wasn't able to experience that deep postseason run as the team waived him on March 1, 2005
9. Justin Hamilton
31 games played
The first 7-foot behemoth, besides Ware, joins our list. Justin Hamilton played 31 games for the Heat in the lucky number. The Croatian center spent some time in the G-league (or D-Leuage at that time) playing for the Sioux Fall Skyforce, averaging 19 points. His wings were spread much wider in the D-League than when he was a member of the Heatles.
