The Miami Heat and the Toronto Raptors will square off on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Arena. The Heat will look to snap its two-game road losing streak without Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro on the floor.
The Heat opened as a 1.5-point road underdog against Toronto, but the line has ballooned up to 4.5 points. Can Miami pick up the win without Adebayo and Herro tonight? Or will the Raptors hold serve at home?

Heat vs. Raptors key players to watch
Miami Heat
Jimmy Butler: With the Heat missing Herro and Adebayo, it puts a lot of pressure on Butler to carry the offense. In Miami’s last two games, the veteran wing is producing 34.5 points, eight rebounds, and four assists per game. He’s also shooting 50% from the field and averaging 14.5 free throw attempts.
Toronto Raptors
Pascal Siakam: Siakam ended November averaging 21 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game. To start December, he had 21 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the Raptors’ 13-point loss against the Knicks. Without Adebayo patrolling the middle of the paint, I would be shocked to see the Raptors not attack the paint with Siakam and Scottie Barnes.
Heat vs. Raptors prediction and pick
Miami is in a tough spot without its second and third leading scorers in Herro and Adebayo. But the good news for the Heat is that they are getting contributions from rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr., Duncan Robinson, and Josh Richardson.
They will need that and more against a Raptors squad that has lost three out of their last five games but is 6-5 at home this season. Toronto has a nice 1-2 scoring punch with Siakam and Barnes, but who will be that third scorer?
Dennis Schroder is an option, but he’s struggled shooting the ball over the last three games. Then there’s OG Anunoby, who’s struggling as well lately. But he’s averaging 14.6 points per game this season.
The Raptors don’t have a great offense as they are averaging 111.2 points per game (24th in NBA) and an ORTG (111.3), which could benefit the Heat. If Miami had Adebayo or Herro, I’d take Miami on the spread. But I’ll lean towards the UNDER as the Heat are 7-5 to the under, while the Raptors are 5-4 in the under.
