Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler and some of the biggest stars in the NBA will be the subject of a new series on Netflix.
Netflix is creating a NBA documentary series modeled after its NFL “Quarterback” show. Butler is one of five players chosen to be the focus of the first season, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Along with Butler, the new show will follow the seasons of Los Angeles’ LeBron James, Boston’s Jayson Tatum, Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards and Sacramento’s Domantas Sabonis.
The name of the series and its premier date have yet to be announced.
A new Netflix series on the NBA will follow Jimmy Butler and other stars on and off the court.
According to the Miami Herald, filming of the docuseries involving Butler began at the start of this current season and will continue through the end of the season.
This new series is expected to follow a similar model as Netflix’s popular “Quarterback” show, which followed Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota’s Kirk Cousins and Atlanta’s Marcus Mariota on and off the field during the 2022-23 season.
Part of Butler’s story this season has been the right foot injury that will sideline him for the fifth straight game when the Heat host the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night.
