Riser: Terry Rozier

Here are Terry Rozier’s averages over his last seven games since he returned from a knee sprain: 18 points on 48% shooting (39% on 3s), 6 assists (to 1.9 turnovers), 4.4 rebounds and 1 steal.

Rozier has been Miami’s second-leading scorer over that stretch and had big shots at the end of narrow losses in Dallas and Oklahoma City.

But it’s been Rozier’s playmaking that has made the biggest impact. He had 11 assists in Dallas and has single-handedly resurrected Miami’s lob game.

Rozier and Bam Adebayo are rapidly gaining chemistry in the pick-and-roll.

As a team, the Heat recorded 22 alley-oop dunks in 42 games before trading for Rozier and 23 alley-oops in 20 games after.

The trade (Kyle Lowry and a future first-round pick) is paying off, and Rozier is making himself essential.
