It's the Holiday season! Christmas time is full of great vibes, as is family time (usually). Children leave cookies on the table for Santa and frantically wake up early on Christmas morning to open those presents.

These are staples of Christmas in America, but the showcase of the NBA immortals is high on the priority list if you're like me. There are five NBA Christmas games each year, filled with the best players and teams in the association. We get rivalry matchups, young guys matching up with their idols, and playoff previews.

The Miami Heat are 11-2 all-time on Christmas Day.

The Miami Heat have played 13 times on Christmas and match up with the Philadelphia 76ers this year on the big day. Heat Culture's own Dwyane Wade was always a treat to watch on the 25th of December as he has the fourth most points on Christmas Day Ever (1. LeBron 2. Kobe 3. Oscar Robertson).

Jimmy Butler's history on Christmas

Jimmy Butler, another Heat legend who will define this era of Heat basketball, has had his fair share of exhilarating Christmas Day moments. Butler has already played in eight Christmas games. Five of those coming with the Chicago Bulls, and one a piece with Minnesota, Philly, and Miami. His 5-3 record is impressive when you add context. He's landed on the victory side against some Hall of Fame talent.

In successive years, the Bulls knocked off Kobe Bryant's Lakers and the Kevin Durant/Russell Westbrook Thunder. Jimmy's not known as a shooter, but we know he performs best under the bright lights.

Check out this deep ball against that Thunder team in 2015.

Timberwolves fans still hold a grudge against Butler; it's well-documented. That's all fine, but Butler was the main reason for many positive things in his short stint there. He led the Timberwolves to their first Christmas Day win in 2017. Butler finished the game with 23 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and, in typical Jimmy style, 0 fouls.

The 76ers must regret not keeping Butler. He's been to the finals twice since he left there and dispatched them in the 2022 playoffs. Neither here nor there, though, as Butler had his best jump-shooting Christmas Day game with Philly. These are contested jumpers that didn't phase Jimmy. Imagine him doing that with Embiid on his side today —- maybe that's something we'll see in South Beach. Butler ended that game with 24 points, shooting 3-7 from 3-point range.

That was the most threes he's made on Christmas. Butler has scored 20+ points in half of his eight Christmas games. Since becoming an All-Star in 2014, Butler has been a significant producer during the Holiday slate.

If you remove his lone Heat Christmas game (left at halftime due to ankle stiffness), he averages 22 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.& assists since 2014. Those are All-Star numbers reflective of everything Jimmy has given to the game.

The Philadelphia 76ers travel to Miami for their nighttime clash on Monday night. The Heat look to extend their Christmas Day record to 12-2 with Jimmy Buckets leading the way if he's available.
