The Miami Heat's starting lineup might not look much different this season, but what about a year from now?

SF: Nikola Jovic

Depending on the development from Jaquez’s 3-point shooting that needs some work, he could find himself in a starting role sooner rather than later. However, Jovic has earned that spot already, and is much more positioned to help spread the floor right now than Jaquez. Last season, Jovic shot 40% from deep and proved to be a shooter that can be relied on.

Having Jovic in a lineup that features Herro as the primary ball handler also provides them with a point forward option to help with those responsibilities. Jovic has showcased encouraging playmaking potential of his own as someone that can push the ball and finish in transition. There were several fastbreak runs over the last season that featured him going coast to coast.

His size and length at 6-foot-11 continues the trend of functional size in this potential future lineup. Although his height may show otherwise, Jovic is a guard in a big man’s body. He has been seen running the point in recent Fiba and Olympic outings over the years with Slovenia.
